The head of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies Dmitry Rylko is convinced that a generous harvest of 2019 will be promoted by an increase in production volumes and an increase in the area under winter and spring crops. In such circumstances, it will not be difficult to achieve export performance of 47 million tons.
Note that earlier the leader of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev suggested that the current year’s crop could reach 118 million tons. And it’s not superfluous to add that last year the representatives of the Russian agro-industrial complex gathered an even larger crop from the fields: then the amount of grain crossed the mark of 135 million tons. About 70 million tons of wheat were harvested alone. As for barley, here indicators are encouraging - more than 16 million tons. In addition, farmers harvested about 11 million tons of corn. All this, according to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, justified the forecasts that were made in early 2018. It is hoped that the forecasts for 2019 will also not fail the Russian farmers.
