In the Olevsky district of the Zhytomyr region, an outbreak of African swine fever was detected.

The Main Directorate of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Zhytomyr region informs about the detection of a case of wild pigs among African pigs in the 70th quarter of the state enterprise Belokorovitsky Leskhoz in the Olevsky District of the Zhytomyr Region.

The Main Directorate of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Zhytomyr region organized a group with a field trip, which took samples and sent them for research to a laboratory in the city of Kiev.

As a result of studying the selected samples, the diagnosis of African swine fever was confirmed (report on the results of the study No. 9477p.m. / 19 dated 07.22.2019).

In order to coordinate the localization and elimination of the outbreak of the disease, a meeting of the State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commission was organized on July 23, 2019, which developed planned actions to combat ASF and named the boundaries of the epizootic foci, the protective zone and the surveillance zone.

On the territory of the ASF center, measures are being taken to localize and prevent the spread of the ASF pathogen; the situation is under the control of the Main Directorate of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Zhytomyr Region.
