This year, Info-Shuvar specialists recorded a significant increase in the supply of imported stone fruits at wholesale sites in the country.

According to the latest data from the State Statistics Service, in May of this year, Ukraine bought abroad the largest volume of stone fruit in the last 5 years - 1.45 thousand. The purchase of fruit cost the country $ 1 million 720 thousand.

The main suppliers of products are the countries of the European Union and Turkey. Importers of stone fruits took advantage of a delay in the ripening of domestic fruits and brought foreign goods to the Ukrainian market.

Moreover, due to the lack of domestic products and little competition with berries, importers were able to set high prices on the imported product. Today they are 35-50% more expensive than in 2018.

According to Tatyana Getman, head of the Marketing Analytics department of the Shuvar wholesale market, in the near future, due to increased competition in the stone fruit market, there will be a decrease in prices.

In Lviv, the largest wholesale market of ORU “Shuvar” in Lviv, Lviv already has the first small batches of Ukrainian apricots at a price of 40-50 UAH / kg, which amounts to 1.3-1.6 Euro / kg.

The largest offer of stone fruit in Ukrainian markets is expected in July. Then there will be an influx of imported products, which will reduce the price of these fruits as much as possible.
