Five years ago, a real surge in the popularity of pasta among domestic consumers was recorded on the Russian market.
And from 2014 to 2018, the love of pasta among Russians only grew stronger, increasing by 7.4% over four years. In 2018, the sales volumes of spaghetti, horns and other products reached 1080 thousand tons.
According to price experts, a slight decrease was recorded in 2015, when low demand forced producers to increase pasta prices. At the same time, the expensive imported pasta was not in demand among the Russians - if the domestic consumer bought pasta, he chose mainly pasta made locally.In the period from 2017 to 2018, Russians became more active and began to increasingly buy pasta from the middle and high segment of value to the table. Since then, pasta is one of the favorite treats of Russians, given the statistics.
Particularly popular among domestic buyers are curly pasta - farfalle and fusilli. The honorable second place is occupied by the "horns". And in third place in popularity are spaghetti and vermicelli.Based on information from price experts, in the next four years, the volume of pasta sales on the trading floors of the Russian Federation will increase. By 2023, analysts predict an increase in pasta sales by 6.3%, which will help to reach 1148 thousand tons per year.
