The day before yesterday, April 3, Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) celebrated the opening of its new high-tech feed mill in Quincy, Illinois.
ADM is the fourth state-of-the-art animal feed manufacturing facility in North America, which has been opened in recent months by the world leader in value-added products and solutions for both production and domestic animals.
“Animal nutrition is one of our key growth platforms, and this investment is another great example of the efforts we are making to become a regular partner for our clients in livestock, aquaculture and domestic animals around the world,” said ADM chairman and CEO Juan Luciano. The new plant is located next to the ADM feed plant, acquired in 1998 from the Moorman Manufacturing Company. It is one of six ADM businesses in the Quincy area with approximately 500 employees. The new plant will enable ADM to meet the growing needs of customers in the United States.
The company is characterized by expanded storage space for faster and more efficient customer service; enhanced manufacturing capabilities to meet the increased demand for ADM products; a special line for the production of non-drug feed; automated packaging and process control, as well as unique pressing baths for several types of feed.
“ADM not only increases the value of agricultural products, but also makes a significant contribution to the Illinois agricultural economy,” said Lieutenant Governor of Illinois Juliana Stratton.
