In the period from January 1 to July 1, 2019, the Republic of Azerbaijan sent a huge amount of such nuts as hazelnuts to the world market.
The total value of export deliveries for the first half of the current year amounted to sixty seven million eight hundred seventy six thousand US dollars.
This information was shared by representatives of the Azerbaijani authorities, also noting that in total over twelve thousand two hundred forty-eight thousand tons of hazelnuts were shipped to foreign markets.
If we compare these indicators with the export volume of this nut in 2018, then we can note an almost twofold increase, both in quantitative and in value terms.
It will not be amiss to note that this year, Azerbaijani producers and suppliers of hazelnuts discovered new European and overseas markets, but did not refuse from the old ones such as Germany, the Russian Federation and Italy.
In particular, it is known that during the reporting period, more than five thousand two hundred and fifty-four thousand tons of hazelnuts fell on the Russian market (the cost reached twenty-six million three hundred and seventy thousand US dollars).
Italy purchased four thousand one hundred twenty-four tons of Azerbaijani hazelnuts for the first half of 2019, paying more than twenty-four and a half million dollars for this.
One thousand seven hundred thirty-four tons of hazelnuts from Azerbaijani producers fell to the share of Germany; this purchase cost the Germans ten million one hundred seventy-one thousand dollars.
