The end of last year was marked by a significant event for the Republic of Tatarstan - the State Commission of the Russian Federation for the Issues of Testing and Protection of Breeding Achievements placed in the federal register a national treasure - horses of the Tatar breed.

As of today, there are a little more than half a thousand Tatar horses in farms and personal farms of the republic. But local horse breeders do not intend to dwell on this figure. Their ambitious plans include active work to increase the number of livestock, stimulate the reproduction of unique animals and ensure comfortable conditions for the existence of rare horses.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, who is also the head of the local Ministry of Agriculture, Marat Akhmetov, emphasized during the republican meeting in the Government House that the preservation and development of the "Tatar" breed is one of the priority tasks for local horse breeders.

It should be noted that the Tatar breed is distinguished from its usual horse by its high passability: this breed can easily cover a distance of three hundred kilometers without problems.
