The John Deere system for determining the amount of nutrients in the soil and dosing them was recognized by the jury of the European Prize in Land and Soil Management as a “major breakthrough” in soil cultivation technology.
John Deere used the HarvestLab 3000 Near Infrared (NIR) Sensor System to measure nutrient content during suspension application.
According to John Deere, the HarvestLab 3000 system provides farmers and contractors with new technology to "more sustainably manage the nutrient cycle and increase the efficiency of using manure as fertilizer."In addition, the system prevents over or under impregnation by continuously measuring nutrients during suspension application.
The HarvestLab 3000 system allows farmers to more accurately apply N, P and K, based on the target nutrient content in the soil or the maximum application rate in kg / ha. These ingredients and their total volume are automatically and accurately documented. The system can also use recipe cards for a specific land plot.Share
