The land market in Ukraine will be launched on October 1, 2020, according to a statement by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Goncharuk on September 19 during a conference on land administration reform under the auspices of the President “Land as a factor in the development of the Ukrainian village”.
According to Alexey Goncharuk, it was planned to initially open the land market on July 1, 2020, but later decided that summer was not the best time for such a serious event. As a result, the date was shifted to October 1, 2020.
The Prime Minister said that a lot of work needs to be done over the year: interest rates on loans have been reduced, and lending in hryvnias at Ukrainian banks should be available to farmers. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the work of the Antimonopoly Committee and put things in order in the State Geocadastre.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that the land market will be available only to Ukrainians. Alexey Goncharuk noted that more than 1 thousand companies founded by foreigners are already working on Ukrainian soil. They also need to be given the opportunity to work after the market opens.
“Companies with foreign investment have access to land purchase subject to Ukrainian registration and capitalization and payment of taxes in Ukraine,” he said.
