The grape harvest in Central Otago must continue - wine producers are considered an important service, which means that Covid-19 will not stop the 2020 harvest.
The Central Otago Winegrowers Association says it understands the level of responsibility that lies among other agricultural sectors in the production of food and beverages, which the government considers an important service.
The Board of Directors of the Central Otago Winegrowers Association represents a group of 170 winegrowers throughout Central Otago.
The Association and its members take this responsibility very seriously and constantly report not only what is required to comply with all Covid-19 protocols, but also what can be done on top of this.
According to the association, the use of vineyards outdoors is a safe environment, ensuring that a two meter rule is mandatory.
