Concerned Ukrainian cheese makers note that a significant decrease in domestic cheese demand has added to the problem with the export of cheese products, leading to lower prices.

In such circumstances, many Ukrainian producers began to arrange mass sales of cheese with large discounts. A decrease in product prices was also noted in the official price lists of leading operators, which was not there for a very long time.

In April of this year, the largest producers of traditional cheeses delivered their goods at wholesale prices of 140-155 UAH / kg. And during the campaign, some types of cheese are sold even at a price of up to 130 UAH / kg. Due to the increase in the number of offers, the cost of goods may decrease slightly.

Factories that previously produced a large number of cheese products for export are now forced to reorient to cheese. The export price of cheese has so far remained the same and amounts to $ 3900-4400 / t, which can be considered a good price, especially when the cost of production on the domestic market decreases.

The volumes of the exported product are very small. So, in March of this year, Ukraine sold abroad only 498 thousand tons of hard cheese.

The country bought about the same amount of cheese of this kind abroad, and in general, the monthly import of foreign rennet cheese already reaches the mark of 1000 tons. And these are statistics only from official deliveries.
