On June 23 this year, on Sunday, in the Poltava region, the AN-2 plane crashed, which is the property of one of the local agricultural firms. The incident was reported by the press service of the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine (SES).
According to the service, the plane began to fall and burn. The flight engineer and pilot managed to evacuate before the plane crashed. Pilots of the injured plane refused hospitalization.
Employees of the investigative-operational group and the State Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine left for the scene.
At the moment, the reasons and circumstances of the plane crash are being clarified. There is a question about the opening of criminal proceedings under Article 276 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of railway, water or air transport), the report said.
The press service of the State Emergency Service noted that a local resident informed about the plane crash at 9:54. A fire was localized at 10:16, and extinguished at 11:00.
Earlier it was reported that most of the agricultural aviation in Ukraine is outdated and dangerous to use. As of February 5, 2019, the country registered 67 aircraft engaged in aviation application of agricultural chemistry. Of these, 50 cars were made during the USSR and are very outdated.
