According to representatives of the Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, in the first four months of this year, foodstuffs of agricultural origin were the most expensive in the domestic market.
In particular, we are talking about vegetables and cereals, which have made a considerable contribution to the process of the rise in price of food for four months by more than three and a half percent.
For comparison, we note that in the countries of the European Union for the same period of time, provisions increased in price by an average of only one percent.
It is noteworthy that the fastest-growing vegetables in the Russian market are prices. In the early days of this year, their price was twenty-four percent lower than by the end of April 2019. As for cereals, their jump is equal to a little more than three and a half percent. With the same indicator, bakery products also rose in price over the indicated period.
Fruits on the Russian market in spring cost consumers four and a half percent more expensive than in January.
Meanwhile, in European countries, vegetable products, even if it went up in price. But obviously not at the same pace as in Russia — five times slower, or even more. And fruits have completely decreased in price from the beginning of the year to April by half a percent.
