In the very near future, new residents will settle in the expanses of the Stavropol Territory - breeding lambs, who will arrive in the Russian Federation straight from the Republic of South Africa.
Such information was shared with the public by Vladimir Vladimirov, who heads the regional administration of the Stavropol Territory. In addition, the governor noted that this project is intended to provide lamb meat processing enterprises of the region.
It should be noted that in the framework of the AgroYug forum, the initiative group announced its intention to provide mutton from the sheep’s livestock to the Stavropol Territory. However, a rational proposal was soon made to get animals from South Africa in order to develop new breeds in the Russian Federation.
As a result, the herd of the Stavropol Territory will be increased to one million heads due to the purchase by the Damate company of lambs from Africa.
Also, the company will accept sheep meat from livestock breeders of Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia and Dagestan to ensure a production capacity of twenty-five million tons of finished products per day.
