The agrotechnological center, located next to the Blata-Cern irrigation system, will be opened with the aim of creating new processing facilities that will exclude raw material buyers from the fruit and vegetable sales chain, and producers will be able to use the fruit service under their own brand.
The construction of the Agrotechnological Center (ATC) for storing and processing fruits and vegetables, along with a refrigerator and other auxiliary capacities, will begin in late July this year in the business zone in Czerny, next to the Blata-Cern irrigation system, which should lead to an improvement and more profitable agricultural production in Vukovar-Sriem county (Croatia).
According to the prefect of Vukovar-Sriemsky district Bozho Galich, the improvement of agricultural production in the easternmost part of the Croatian district is especially important in the irrigation system of Blato Cerna on 550 hectares. agricultural land.
“The amount of water that needs to be provided for surface irrigation depends on rainfall, cultivated crops and their total surface area,” said Hranimir Yurich, head of the irrigation department in the district.
He added that the total amount of water needed to bring agricultural land to the systematic irrigation of Blata Cern, taking into account a loss of 20% in a dry year, is 1.5 million m³ and 1.1 million m³ on average per year.
The capacity of 5 pumps at the pumping station is 3.221 l / s, and the total length of the pressure distribution pipeline is 15.2 km, with 153 hydraulic connections for irrigation of agricultural land.
The center will cooperate with secondary vocational schools by organizing practical classes, exercises and innovative programs to improve the quality of work on specialized devices, as well as the application of new production technologies at the plant.
