NZMP, the Fonterra brand of dairy ingredients and solutions, providing one of the widest range of dairy ingredients in the world, has launched two probiotic ingredients on the market for sports and active lifestyles to support growing consumer interest in wellness.

The ingredients, which include the unique NZMP strains of Bifidobacterium animalis subspecies lactis HN019 (BifidoB 019) and Lactobacillus rhamnosus HN001 (LactoB 001), have undergone many years of clinical trials confirming such popular benefits as improving digestive health, intestinal comfort and improving bowel quality increase immunity.

With an increased understanding of the relationship between the intestines and the brain, there is also the potential for a positive effect on mental well-being.

The NZMP BifidoB 019 and LactoB 001 probiotics were designed to meet three criteria: safety, efficacy, and stability; and have a recognized safety status (GRAS). In addition, these offers will be halal, kosher, vegetarian, and free of lactose or milk protein.

Both probiotic strains will be demonstrated by NZMP at the Food Technology Institute (IFT) trade show on June 2-5, 2019 in New Orleans.
