Despite the rapid development and implementation of digital technologies, one of the most painful issues in the agricultural sector is the lack of qualified personnel.
Most employers face serious problems in recruiting staff, as young people do not show interest in agricultural vacancies, says Natalia Romanenko, Director of Human Resources Department of Ukrlandfarming Group of Companies.
At present, the agrarian market of Ukraine feels a very acute need for qualified personnel. Ukrlandfarming happily employs tractor drivers, turners, livestock breeders, locksmiths, drivers. But in Ukraine, most applicants have higher education and do not want to go to such work. In the world, the ratio of candidates with higher education to vocational education is about 30/70. In Ukraine, a completely different situation. The number of job seekers will decrease even more, the specialist predicts.
Now the labor market in Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of responsible, internally motivated and ready for development employees. Today, there are more and more cases of “hosting”, when a candidate for a vacancy does not come for an interview after a preliminary agreement or simply does not go to work, completely disconnecting from the employer. This is a big problem for the Ukrainian agricultural market, Natalya Romanenko sums up.
