Today, an entrepreneurial farmer from the Odessa region has at his disposal a huge pistachio garden: a peasant planted more than three hectares of land with a unique nut in Ukraine.
“For some reason, this tree is not cultivated in our country,” said Andrei Petkov, the same farmer-enthusiast. “And I intend to break the stereotype that pistachio is not a culture for Ukraine, and I believe that in six years I will collect the first (and probably generous) crop of beautiful pistachios.”

“So I have every chance not only to grow the grove, but also to get tangible profits after the sale of the first harvest,” Andrei is sure. - On each hectare, I have almost three hundred seedlings growing. In ten years, it will be possible to collect ten kilograms of tasty and high-quality pistachios from each tree. ”
Petkov hopes that his experience will serve as a “magic kick” for other Ukrainian farmers from the southern regions, because the mass production of pistachios is literally a “gold mine”.
Indeed, pistachios on the market are not cheap, because they are sometimes called "diamond nuts". And Andrei Petkov emphasizes that the climatic conditions of the southern territories of Ukraine are quite suitable for growing pistachio gardens: trees are resistant to temperature fluctuations from ten degrees of frost to forty degrees of heat and calmly feel on saline coastal soils.
