According to analysts of the food market of the Russian Federation, last month the rate of annual inflation in the food industry of the North-West Federal District increased by half a percent - from five and a half to six.
Such information was shared in the press center of the Central Bank of Russia. Analysts also noted that due to inflation in the district, prices for such types of vegetable products as garlic, onions, carrots and cucumbers grown in closed ground rose significantly.
The fact is that agricultural enterprises of the Leningrad Region began to produce less than these products, on the basis of which a rise in price was provoked with high demand and limited supply.
It is also important to add that the cost of commodity items of farm origin (both local and imported), such as: pears, grapes and bananas, has risen. It is possible that the rise in price of these products in Russia is caused by the fact that prices for similar products are also rising in the EU market.
But tomatoes on the Russian market are not planning to go up, as well as cabbage. An increase in prices for these products is not expected in the coming week, since these vegetables are ripening actively and in large quantities on the fields of Russia, as well as in sufficient quantities come from imports from countries near and far abroad.
